The Fulton Surface Sampler offers two routes - a 50 mile ride consisting of paved roads, paved trails, and limestone trails, and an 87 mile route consisting of paved roads, paved trails, limestone trails, and gravel roads. We welcome your return for a block party at the Fulton Taproom.
Daily schedule:
Check in: 7:30-10am at the Fulton Taproom
Roll out window: 8-10am. There’s no mass start, go when you’re ready.
Rest stop operating hours: 9am-3pm. Mile 25 on both routes, mile 62 on the 87 mile route.
Post-ride party and bike corral at the taproom: Noon-8pm.
Parking:
There’s not a ton of free parking right by the taproom as most of the meters are enforced daily now. We recommend parking in the surface lots at Graco HQ on the other side of the river and riding over instead of a ramp near the taproom, one because free, and two because roof rack.
Route info:
No signs. You’ll need to navigate using GPS or by downloading and printing cue cards.
The 50 mile route doesn’t have any gravel roads. It’s all pavement and limestone, you could likely do it on a road bike with no issues.
The 87 mile route has 24 miles of gravel roads. Some are hard packed, some are super soft and dusty. You really want to not be on a road bike for this route if the gravel’s recently been graded.
There’s no sag wagon.
The rest stop is in downtown Victoria, right next to The Social Ice Cream Parlor, who are letting us refill our water jugs using their water. Stop in for some ice cream and to say thanks!
Post-ride info:
First beer or NA beverage is on us back at the taproom.
We’ve got a free, secured bike corral for all registered riders so you can check your bike in and relax. Please check your bike back out by 8pm.
The taproom kitchen will be open with regular food service.
